Born in Texas, Bryan Burk has been tattooing in Los Angeles for over 20 years.  After working at Spotlight Tattoo for 11 years, he opened Dark Horse Tattoo in the spring of 2010 in Los Feliz, and was soon joined by Adam Warmerdam. Originally hailing from Lodi, California, Adam Warmerdam moved to Los Angeles in 2004, and began tattooing 2 years later in Gardena, CA.  He enjoyed working at “Yer Cheatin’ Heart Tattoo” for 3 years, then joined Bryan Burk at Dark Horse in the spring of 2010, after becoming friends while spending time together at Spotlight Tattoo.  He’s now been with us here for 10 years, and we couldn’t be happier to have his as our senior staff member after Bryan. Adam has truly distinguished himself in the tattoo community with his bold, ultra-stylish American tattooing.

A Los Angeles native who learned the crafts of sign painting and tattooing during an extended period of living in San Francisco, Candi has returned to Los Angeles and taken up residency with us here at Dark Horse. Candi’s interests focus on Japanese and American tattoo imagery, excelling at floral and natural subjects, lettering, and lovely black and grey work. Always warm and friendly, with a highly professional attitude, we’re so happy to have Candi as a fixture at Dark Horse.

Daniel hails from Margate, England, and after working with us as a consistent guest artist throughout 2019, has now joined our staff full time! We are very excited to have him, and offer his bold, tribal and intricate blackwork tattooing. Well versed in Borneo and Polynesian tattooing, Dan also works with ornamental and geometric styles, and has even been known to do large scale Japanese work.

Alyssa joined our team in the beginning of 2024, after having tattooed so-called here in Los Angeles for the last 6 years. Young and ambitious, Alyssa’s bright personality and technical capability make her a great fit for experienced customers, as well as people getting their first tattoo. She is with us from Tuesday to Saturday weekly, call or email the shop to schedule time with her!

The newest member of our team, Rosario has been tattooing in the Los Angeles, South Bay and East Bay areas for over 10 years. His technical excellence and artistic ability bring a distinct look to his work, unlike anyone else here at the studio. we’re excited to have him and look forward to seeing what he has in store for us!
